According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, more than 14,500 drug treatment facilities exist to provide counseling, medication, behavioral therapy, case management, drug treatment, in and outpatient centers, and other services to help individuals, including those with unique needs, to overcome substance abuse disorders.

The services are provided primarily by doctors, nurses, social workers, nurses, and counselors.
